What’s Happening:
Whites Creek Wildlife Care have put the call out for volunteers in the Townsville region.
Volunteer Rescuers are being sought to wildlife emergencies and are offering training to carry out a range of tasks aimed at helping Mother Nature.
Why it matters:
Responsibilities will include:
- Carry out roadside checks on kangaroo pouches for joeys
- Collect injured wildlife from the roadside and transport them to carers or vet clinics
- Make efforts to reunite animals with their parents
You will require:
- Valid Queensland drivers licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Mobile phone
You will be helping:
- Birds
- Reptiles
- Kangaroos
- Wallabies
- Possums
- Bats
