Mates Rates returns: 50% off Townsville getaways

Following last year’s rapid sell-out success, Townsville Enterprise has announced the return of the Mates Rates campaign for 2025, offering 50% off tours, accommodation, and experiences up to the value of $250.

The campaign is designed to boost tourism during the low season and will be available exclusively through townsvillenorthqueensland.com.au.

To access the discount, visitors must register by 9 February, with the sale going live on 10 February until sold out.

Travel bookings can be made until 3 April 2025.

The initiative provides a direct boost to local tourism businesses during the quieter months while allowing residents and visitors to explore the region at a fraction of the cost. The overwhelming demand for the 2024 campaign proved the strong local appetite for affordable travel experiences.

Lisa Woolfe, Townsville Enterprise Director of Visitor Economy and Marketing, emphasised the campaign’s importance: “We’re thrilled to bring back the Mates Rates campaign for 2025. Not only does this offer an incredible opportunity for locals to explore their own backyard, but it also provides a vital boost to our tourism operators during the quieter shoulder season.”

She added “This campaign sold out in record time last year, and we’re confident it will do so again. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with businesses reporting significant increases in bookings and exposure.”

Businesses such as The Ville Resort-Casino, Ardo, Aquascene Magnetic Island, Sealink, and Adrenalin Snorkel and Dive are among those set to see a surge in bookings.
