What’s Happening?
Pippa Colman Family Law has celebrated its 25th anniversary, bringing together staff, professional referrers and colleagues to recognise the milestone. The occasion marked the firm’s growth from a small practice into an established family law business, while acknowledging those who contributed to its success.
Founded by Pippa Colman in 2001, the practice has maintained its original commitment to helping people through separation and restoring stability for their children.
Why It Matters
When Pippa opened her practice on 26 March 2001, her goal was to support families through difficult circumstances. She also wanted to help children regain stability as quickly as possible.
Although the legal profession has changed considerably since then, the firm has continued to place client relationships at the centre of its work. During the anniversary celebration, Pippa reflected on the milestone, reminding guests that family law professionals understand how special a 25-year relationship can be.
The occasion also recognised the trust of clients and professional colleagues, whose continued support has helped the practice grow.
Local Impact
Over the years, the firm has supported thousands of clients through family separation while creating employment and career opportunities for legal professionals.
Its growth has also strengthened connections within the professional community, where referrals and collaboration remain important to its work. Through these relationships, the practice has continued supporting families while providing opportunities for successive generations of family law professionals.

The anniversary celebration placed particular emphasis on the people who have helped shape the practice, including several long-serving team members.
Pippa paid tribute to Stacey Burgess and Dimity McGregor for their dedication throughout different stages of the firm’s development. She also recognised directors Sarah Quilliam, Samantha Bolton and Jessica Popple, whose progressive ideas have helped transform the business.
Marketing Manager Renita Gordon and Laura Greenhill were thanked for organising the celebration, which brought together colleagues and professional supporters.
Beyond recognising its staff, the firm expressed appreciation to clients, referrers and peers who have supported its work over the years. Families also received special thanks for their understanding through demanding schedules, late nights and the familiar “just a few more minutes” phone calls.
Zoom Out
Reflecting on its beginnings, the firm recalled how different everyday life was when it first opened. Smartphones were not widely available, emails were uncommon, and “the cloud” was something people checked before hanging out the washing.
While technology has changed the way legal services operate, the anniversary highlighted the importance of maintaining strong personal and professional relationships.
The firm credited its continued development to the combined efforts of its staff, the loyalty of clients and the support of professional colleagues. These relationships have remained central to the practice throughout its history.
What To Look For Next?
Following its silver anniversary, Pippa Colman Family Law intends to continue helping people rebuild their lives after separation.
As the firm looks towards the coming decades, its commitment to clients and the wider community remains unchanged, building on the foundations established in 2001.
