What’s Happening?
Dementia Australia is offering free education and support sessions in Mount Isa and Cloncurry from 2 to 4 June 2026.
The sessions are designed for people living with dementia, carers, family members, friends and community members.
They will cover memory changes, ageing, dementia support, planning ahead and carer wellbeing.
Bookings are essential through Dementia Australia’s Brain Hub page or by calling 1800 588 699.
People can also register through the National Dementia Helpline on 1800 100 500.
The helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

That session will be held on Tuesday 2 June 2026, from 9:30am to 2:30pm AEST in Mount Isa.
The Memory and Ageing Session will explain common memory changes that may occur with ageing.
It will also cover memory strategies, when to seek help and Dementia Australia services.
That session will be held on Tuesday 2 June 2026, from 1pm to 2:30pm AEST in Cloncurry.
The EDIE for Family Carers session uses virtual reality technology.
It helps participants see the world through the eyes of a person living with dementia.
That session will be held on Tuesday 2 June 2026, from 10am to 2pm AEST in Cloncurry.
Zoom Out
Dementia Australia is also working with Campfire Healing Indigenous Corporation on Yarning about Dementia.
The session will invite community members to talk about dementia, risk factors and available support.
It will also cover ways to lower risk and support someone with a dementia diagnosis.
The session is suitable for anyone impacted by dementia.
It will be held on Wednesday 3 June 2026, from 10am to 12pm AEST in Mount Isa.
The Understanding Dementia session will provide an introduction to dementia.
It will cover different types of dementia, diagnosis, planning ahead and support.
That session will be held on Wednesday 3 June 2026, from 4pm to 5:30pm AEST in Mount Isa.
Another EDIE for Family Carers session will be held on Thursday 4 June 2026, from 9am to 1pm AEST in Mount Isa.
A second Memory and Ageing Session will follow on Thursday 4 June 2026, from 1:30pm to 3pm AEST in Mount Isa.
