Exploring the Resonance of Music in Art

Soundtracks, a compelling blend of visual arts and audio sensations, has taken the stage at Townsville’s renowned Perc Tucker Regional Gallery. Donna Foley’s groundbreaking exhibition dives into the significant relationship between music and visual art, providing a rare glimpse into the creative minds of Townsville’s great printmakers.

An Artistic Overture to Personal Narratives

Soundtracks, which runs from October 13th to December 3rd, 2023, is the result of a collaborative effort by local printmakers. Each artist takes you on a trip into their creative process by using a variety of printmaking techniques such as stencils, etchings, linocuts, and risographs. The end result is a visually spectacular installation that resonates with the power of music.

A Multisensory Experience

What sets this exhibition apart is its interactive dimension. By scanning QR codes with their smartphones, visitors can deepen their connection with the art, immersing themselves in the music that inspired the works.

Home-Grown Artistry in the Heart of Townsville

Proudly supported by the Townsville City Council, Soundtracks finds its temporary home at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, offering free entry from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends.
