The Townsville Animal Care and Adoption Centre (ACAC) is breaking new ground in pet adoption accessibility, extending its trading hours to include Sundays until January 29, 2024.
A Paw-some Opportunity for Potential Paw-rents
In response to the bustling lives of Townsville residents, the move to seven-day trading is a strategic initiative by the Community Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability Committee.
Chairperson Maurie Soars believes this will be a game-changer for those looking to welcome a furry friend into their homes.
“Residents, juggling work and commitments, often find their pet adoption options limited by weekday constraints,” says Cr. Soars. “Expanding to seven days a week aims to provide a more accommodating timeframe for potential paw-rents.”

“All our animals are ready to settle into loving homes,” Cr. Soars encourages. “Visit our website to explore the available pets and schedule a meeting with them any day of the week.”
Amid this innovative initiative, the ACAC team is poised to assist and answer queries, ensuring a seamless adoption process.
